About Greenwood Court:
Greenwood Court is designed as a 'Community of Care' where seniors are able to age in place. As the needs of our seniors change, they have access to additional services and supports without having to leave familiar surroundings or newly developed friendships. Staff and volunteers are committed to making Greenwood Court "a place to call home" for its residents.

About the Position:

  • Initiates and fosters on-going interaction with residents, thereby encouraging them to exercise choice and self-expression through individual and group programs.
  • Assist in the planning, organization and implementation of physical, social intellectual emotional and spiritual programs for the residents in collaboration with the Director of Recreation and the recreation team.

The above is a general description of the duties and responsibilities of the position. However, other duties may be assigned as the needs of the residents and the division require.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in the recreational field, working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting is an asset

Summer Opportunities generally start in May and end at the beginning of September. These jobs may be funded by the Government of Canada's Student Work Placement Program (SWPP) or Canada Summer Jobs. In order to be considered for the Canada Summer Jobs Program, you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or a protected person defined by the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
  • Be between 15-30 years of age at beginning of employment period
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and regulations

New employees will be required to complete a vulnerable sector check (or sign a declaration if under 18 years of age) and TB test as part of the onboarding process.
