Nithview Community is a seniors' community designed to provide several types of accommodation and services. Residents are able to choose the type of accommodation that is most appropriate for their care needs and continue to live within the community of care as their needs change. Emphasis is placed on assisting residents to live life to the fullest in this dynamic residential setting.

About the Position:

Under the direction of the Director of Care, the RN supervises hourly resident care department staff in accordance with the established standards, policies and procedures. Unionized under ONA.

Under the direction of the Director of Care, the RN supervises RPN's and PSW's staff in accordance with the established standards, policies and procedures. Unionized under ONA, the Registered Nurse (RN) is an integral and valued member of the resident care team. The RN provides, oversees, and manages the care of residents following the guiding principles and standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario. The RN advocates for quality of life for the residents by modelling leadership, ethics, advocacy, and excellence in the assessment process ensuring safe resident-focused experience. The RN actively leads and contributes to the Nithview long term care team meetings, committees, care planning, and resident Care Conferences.

Wage:

$ 32.22 to $ 48.78 hourly + premiums

Positions available:

  • Days 7am-7pm
  • Nights 7pm-7am
  • All positions require availability to work every other weekend
    • Casual positions require availability of one weekend per month
  • A Night Shift Premium of $1.01 hourly applies to all regular hours worked between 10:00pm and 7:00am.
  • The successful candidate may claim consideration for recent, direct, Canadian experience in the same job classification in order to move up the wage grid according to their hours of experience.

Qualifications:

    • Registered Nurse certified by the College of Nurses of Ontario

    Experience:

    • Minimum one-year experience in a Long-Term Care setting

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Thorough knowledge of the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007 and associated regulations including Resident Quality Inspection Process
    • Demonstrated leadership experience and strong communication skills, both verbal and written
